• Which device is best for new users? The Oleo Panacea and the G Pen Elite 2 are much more basic and very easy to operate, they both do a great job. The Mighty+ Medic does it all and is also a really simple device to operate and is our premium portable device. All certified device options are suitable to be honest, we do recommend the Mighty+ Medic or the Volcano Medic 2 if you can afford one as Storz & Bickel devices (made in Germany) are our premium medical devices, they do it all plus we stock a vast range of related accessories for both vaporizers in Auckland.
• Who is this device best suited for? Everyone, if you can afford a Volcano Medic 2 we highly recommend purchasing one. Experienced vapers love the Volcano Medic 2 but it is still a great first vape due to the exceptional performance and versatility with included accessories.
• What device is best for portability? The Oleo Panacea is the smallest certified Medical Vaporizer we sell and easily fits in your jeans pocket. The Mighty+ Medic is larger but is still very portable especially with one of our Mighty Cases.
• Which certified device is the best bang for your buck? The Oleo and the Elite 2 are both great options and are considerably cheaper to purchase, both are great value. The Mighty+ Medic is more expensive but it will out perform most other vapes and is a premium device. The Volcano Medic 2 is top shelf, the best vaporizer available anywhere, it has been for many years. Yes it's expensive but you will get an incredible vaporizer for your money!
• Which device is the premium option? The Storz & Bickel Mighty+ Medic portable and the Volcano Medic 2 desktop device, both by Storz & Bickel Germany. 
• What makes each device different? Quality, size, performance and price. The Oleo Panacea is a tiny portable vape while the Mighty+ Medic is a large portable vape. The Elite 2 lies somewhere in between. All the certified Medical Vapes are Hybrid Vaporizers. This means they all have conduction and convection heating giving you impressive performance. If you are looking for endurance the Mighty+ Medic is by far the best portable device, it has 2x 18650 batteries. If you want best performance, the Volcano will not let you down.

• What happens if you have an issue with your device? The only thing you need to do is drop us an email and we will do the rest. If your device is still under warranty (each page displays warranty periods) we will immediately contact the NZ based supplier for your brand and arrange for them to contact you directly and arrange a replacement device or a fix. We don't muck about when it comes to this, we understand that once your vape stops working you need to get it sorted asap. Please note that our Portable Medical Vaporizers are a little easier to use because there is nothing to set up or assemble. Our Mighty+ Medic, Oleo Panacea and G Pen Elite II are all fully certified Medical Devices in NZ. They are available for purchase plus they are also considerably cheaper than the Volcano. There are currently only 4 approved Medical Vaporizers in New Zealand (Sept 2026), we stock all 4 giving you some options once you decide on your budget and your requirements. Everyone has a different lifestyle and hopefully you will find which one is best suited to your needs. The Volcano Medic 2 can be moved about or taken to a different location but it really is a home/desktop system.

The Vapormed Volcano Medic 2 Vaporization System consists of a Hot Air Generator, a diaphragm pump and a removable Valve Balloon or Tube System.

The vaporization and inhalation processes are thus separated in time and space which makes inhalation safe as contact with heat or electricity is avoided.

To vaporize the cannabinoids, snap the Filling Chamber with cannabinoids onto the Hot Air Generator. The empty Valve Balloon or Tube Kit is then placed on top of the Filling Chamber. When used with the Tube the diaphragm pump is not needed so it can be inhaled directly from the Tube. You can either Puff and vape it with a Mouth To Lung "MTL" hit where you simply draw the vapor into your mouth and then inhale it or you can do a straight lung hit where you inhale as you are drawing all in one motion. If you are wondering whether you are getting a decent amount of vapor or not try exhaling into the light from a lamp for example. It can be very surprising as vapor is harder to see than smoke and you might be getting more than you thought. A good way to judge how much you are consuming is by how many draws you have but also the density of the vapor. Wispy light vapor is nowhere near as potent as thick dense vapor, keep that in mind when watching "how much you exhale" in a single session. Using a small lamp, flashlight or similar you can face it away from you and blow your vapor over it, you will see instantly how dense the vapor is that you just inhaled. 3 dense clouds could be the same as 6 wispy ones. This is why it's important to prepare your herb for best results to get those nice dense clouds. When it starts to die down you will know it's time to reload with a fresh batch of ground herb unless you are finished.

VALVE BALLOON | MEDIC VALVE

Once the Hot Air Generator is heated up, the pump is switched on and the hot air flows through the Filling Chamber, causing cannabinoids to be vaporized. The hot air or aerosol mixture created is fed into the Valve Balloon quickly cooling down to ambient temperature due to the Balloons large surface area. Once sufficient vapor has been pumped in the pump is switched off and the Valve Balloon is removed from the Filling Chamber and this automatically closes the one-way-valve. The Mouthpiece is then inserted into the valve of the filled balloon to inhale. Apply slight pressure with your lips to the spring loaded Mouthpiece to open the Valve and inhale the cannabinoid / vapor. Once you stop applying pressure to the Mouthpiece, the Valve will close automatically.

TUBE KIT

When the Hot Air Generator is heated place the Tube Kit directly onto the Filling Chamber on the device. IMPORTANT: Do not switch on the diaphragm pump. The hot air (convection) is led through the already preheated Filling Chamber (conduction) by the patient's forced inspiratory flow. The active substances are passed as an aerosol or vapor through the 1m long silicone tube and cooled down. The cooler the vapor the easier it is on your throat. Convection vapes can give you a hot sore throat but the VM2 does a very good job of cooling the vapor on it's way to your mouth.

There are not many videos available to demonstrate the inner functions and other features, the Hybrid Model is 99% identical and has exactly the same inner workings as the Medic 2.

GENERAL INFO | VM2

This device is only intended for vaporization of Medicinal Marijuana / Medical Cannabis Flowers as prescribed by your doctor in New Zealand for your medical condition. Medicinal cannabis is a prescription medicine in NZ and is dispensed from your pharmacy. You do not need a script to buy one of our Medical Devices. Please let it be known that we are happy to help with your questions but our focus is on Patients using scripted Medical Cannabis.

The VM2 is not appropriate for patients with known respiratory tract or lung conditions. Depending on the density, the vapor could irritate respiratory tract or lungs, which can lead to coughing. Although the inhalation of vaporized cannabis causes much less irritation than smoking, first-time users need to allow themselves an initial period of time to find the optimum temperature for the administration. The inhalation should be done in a conscious focused manner. Making a mental note of the amount of vapor you are exhaling is always a good method of working out how much cannabis flower you are consuming in the form of vapor. If you find you can not tolerate vaping period, we do have Infusion Machines for making Oil, Butter and any edibles containing Cannabis Flower for consumption. Our machines also Decarboxylate your herb.

Preparation of your Medical Herb.

Preparation is everything when vaporizing your Medicinal Cannabis. We do advise getting a decent metal herb grinder so you can get the most out of your VM2 Vaporizer. The basic plastic Herb Mill isn't too exciting, it really is basic and tends to rip your precious herb apart rather than grind it. Herb Grinders, especially metal ones that are sturdy and sharp will create the perfect grind for your device. You are best suited to use a 4 piece herb grinder so you end up with a nice fluffy grind, not too fine but ground enough to be ideal for the Hybrid system. We have a good selection of Imported Herb Grinders here. Most patients buy a Storage Device and some Boveda to keep their ground herb fresh and at the correct humidity. We sell all of these accessories that make life a little easier. You can grind up a few grinder loads of herb and store it in an Airtight Container so it stays fresh but more importantly, it's 100% ready to load into your Medical Device when you want to use your medication. It is better than having to grind your herb when you are in pain, grumpy and not feeling like all the hassle. Being prepared is a really good idea in our opinion because you can take your medication using your device and be done in under 10 minutes if your herb is ready to go and your device is all set up.

The importance of buying a quality Herb Grinder.

If you are tired of your grinders getting Build Up on the edges and jamming, there is a cure! You need a Non-Stick Ceramic Coated grinder (they are tough and never flake or peel) that chews through your herb with ease and never jams or develops any build up. They are especially good for people with weak, painful or injured hands because grinding herb can be a bit of a chore. You also don't need to clean them with ISO like you do with a regular grinder. They are a great addition to any patients medical vaporizer set up. The "Slicks" is the most popular brand, the SLX PRO is now in stock, the new 2025 model.

Authentic Vapormed Vapes NZ (Storz & Bickel NZ - Germany). Medical Devices are used for patients to Vaporize Legal Prescription Medicinal Cannabis in NZ. These devices are Certified Medical Vaporizers in NZ but are classed as Medical Devices, not Vaporizers. Technically speaking (just to confuse things even more) they are vaporizers. Often the only difference can be the use of Medical Grade Plastic inside the device. Apart from that they are identical to a regular vaporizer. The Volcano Medic 2 is almost identical to the Volcano Hybrid which is not an approved Medical Device. The same goes for the portables, the Mighty+ is not an approved Medical Device, you need to buy the Mighty+ Medic to have the approved Medical Vaporizer in NZ.
